At The Lesson Center, vocal instruction comes in two program categories, designed to meet the needs of our students.
YOUNG VOCALISTS (ages 6-13)
Experts agree that advanced vocal techniques must be reserved for students who have reached maturity, however, we understand that there are many young vocalists who are passionate about singing. With that in mind, we created a vocal training program designed to teach: rhythm, scales, ear-training, proper breathing and warm-ups, expression, and stage readiness, all with “growing” voices in mind. Paired with monthly opportunities to perform on stage, Young Vocalists produces confident singers who are ready to formally train their voices when the time is right.
ADVANCED VOCALS (ages 14-adult)
Our vocal staff is unsurpassed in the Lehigh Valley, training students in everything from Rock to R & B, Opera to Oprey, Broadway to Blues. Whether your goal is to land the part in your high school musical, audition for a community theater production, sing at an open mic, front your own band, or simply sing your heart out – we have an expert who is the perfect fit for you. The Lesson Center also conducts monthly open mics, seasonal recitals and regular Cabarets, so students not only learn to sing – they learn to perform and be comfortable in front of an audience.
Students will be encouraged to participate in regular recitals and on-going performances like our monthly open-mics and cabarets. While students are not required to participate, we believe these performances help motivate and propel the student to continued improvement, as well as create confident performers who feel comfortable on a stage and in front of an audience. Students may also opt to add on to their private lesson program, by participating in Band Coaching, Summer Camp or Songwriting sessions.
