PIANO/KEYBOARD LESSONS

guitar lessonsAt The Lesson Center, we offer piano/keyboard classes for students of all ages. Our preschool specialists are ideally suited for working with our youngest students (ages 3-5), and our traditional staff can accomodate students from school age to adult. Lessons are conducted weekly in either 30 or 60 minute classes at all three of our Lehigh Valley studios.

In addition to private instruction, and once student and teacher are comfortable and feel confident in their piano or keyboard playing, they will also be given the opportunity to perform at various free recitals conducted througout the year. Older students (11-18) may also opt to take part in Band Coaching, where they will learn the skills necessary to put their private lessons into practice with full 4-6 piece rock, blues, or jazz bands.

We off piano lessons for students of all ages and abilities from beginners to very advanced students. We offer every style of piano lessons from classical to jazz and pop. We have students who want to play just for fun and students who work toward professional and academic goals. As we have so many piano teachers on staff we are able to match students with a teacher that works best with their particular age, ability and interest. We start piano lessons from age 5 onwards. Before age 5 we recommend our group preschool music program, Mini Maestros. Our piano lessons are all private one-on-one instruction and lesson lengths are 30 minutes or 1 hour. While our piano lessons are all private, parents are more than welcome to sit in on their child’s lessons. For our advanced piano students we have teachers with master’s degrees in piano who can prepare them for university entrance or performing arts high school auditions.

ARE YOU A GROWN UP? No problem! Our teachers love their adult students. You're never too old to start learning new tricks.

PIANO STAFF

GEOFF BLACK
You may be surprised to know Geoff's first professional performance took place at the age of ten, leading a group in a festive singalong of favored Christmas carols. He was paid well, even though he admits it did not outweigh the satisfaction of bringing a group together with music. Music has been a constant source of inspiration since even younger still. After graduating in 2003, with a musical performance award from PHS, he spent his late teens studying with the National Guitar Workshop. Geoff can be seen performing with signed and independent touring acts, and is creatively involved in several recording projects. A lifelong student of music, he has studied guitar and/or bass with Stefon Pizzuto, Gary Wherkamp, Tom Kozic, Frank Flandorffer, Pat Metheny and others. Geoff has had a wide variety of musical encounters, however the journey has just begun. The vast selection of resources available to his students will aide them greatly along their musical journey.

DEB LEAHEY
Over the past thirty years I have dedicated my time and passion to all aspects of the art of music. Coming from a musical family I began flute studies at the age of eight and shortly thereafter I began guitar, leading to piano. Throughout the years I have continued learning and playing all three instruments, finally leading to vocal studies. By the time I was eighteen, I was well versed in composition, improvisation and theory and an active member of my schools concert band and marching band and was inspired forward onto my path of becoming a music teacher. I believe in enriching and furthering my musical knowledge and technique, as well as developing aspiring students who feel they need to make music an integral part of their lives. I can say that there is no style or genre that I have not explored in both my personal and teaching journeys.
